Every kin came through the Tenth its own way, and the way stuck. Kin is how you look and where your people come from. It never decides how strong you are, and every kin starts in Kindlewick.

Neged

Said “NEH-ged”. One Neged, two Neged.

Hooded candle folk from the Sunken Wick, west of Kindlewick. They read the wicks every night of the Age of Plenty, even when everyone said there was no point, and they were the first to stand up in the mud on the Tenth. Half their town went into the ground that night. The rest of them are still here, keeping a camp on the rim and a flame on every hood.
